Mission & Vision
Mission Statement
Johnnie L. Cochran Middle School, through a collaborative team effort, is committed to developing the whole child as a successful life-long learner by creating a positive school culture through the effective delivery of a rigorous standards-driven curriculum based on assessed student needs.
Principal's Philosophy
By utilizing what we have learned as educators, parents, and students, and by building on what we have learned from the California State Document, Taking Center Stage, and from the work of Ruby Payne and others, the Cochran Middle School community through collaboration and cooperation is working to provide all of our students the opportunity to grow academically, physically, emotionally, and socially into citizens of this country that are prepared to live a life of contentment with a sense of satisfaction and purpose.
Beliefs
We believe that:
- All students can learn and achieve;
- The school environment must nurture the students and teachers as learners and thinkers;
- We can change and grow as a learning community to better meet the needs ofour school and community;
- It is the responsibility of every student to follow the established Rules and Regulations in order to ensure that schools are safe, orderly, and drug free.
These Rules and Regulations apply as long as a student is enrolled in school, whether in school or attending an activity or program on or off campus.
